Tormentil Complex (Potentilla tormentilla) is a herbaceous perennial related to the rose family. It is found in the wild in many parts of the world, including Europe. The root of Tormentil is blood red in colour when cut and has been use in bitter liqueurs to aid digestion as well as in traditional healthcare to help maintain the normal function of the lower bowel.

The root of tormentil is use to make medicine. People use tormentil as a tea for diarrhea, stomach problems, and fever. Tormentil tincture, an alcoholic preparation of the root, is sometimes apply to small cuts to stop bleeding. It is also add to water and used as a rinse or mouthwash to treat sore throat
