Kelp tablets are one of our oldest nutritional supplements. Containing iodine, they can help those who feel sluggish with a ‘slow metabolism’.
The iodine present in kelp supports the body’s metabolism by promoting the normal production of thyroid hormones in your body. This in turn, encourages your body to burn up the food you eat, giving you more energy.
- Kelp, sometimes also known as Sea Kelp, refers to a group of brown algae or seaweed. That there are more than 30 related species, although it will be true that some are probably still to be discover.
- Kelp grows at the bottom of relatively shallow parts of oceans in ‘kelp forests’ and thrive best in nutrient rich sea at temperatures around 10oC. Although kelp may in the seas of many parts of the temperate world, they appear to grow particularly well in the Pacific Ocean.
- Sea kelp has been use in healthcare for many centuries. It’s eat firstly as a food and many cultures (such as the Japanese) still value seaweed as part of their daily diet. Kelp contains a variety of nutrients, especially iodine, and it is for this reason that people use it to help maintain the normal functioning of the thyroid gland.
Apart from its use in natural healthcare. Kelp use in a number of industrial processes. Kelp ash use in the manufacture of soap and glass; a substance know as alginate derive from kelp seaweed is use to thicken foods such as ice-cream, jelly, salad cream and toothpaste. This alginate has also to have the ability to bind to, and prevent fat-absorption.
Dosage of Sea Kelp Iodine
Directions for use:
Adults: 1 tablet 2 – 3 times daily before food. Do not take before retiring to bed.
Children: This product is not recommended for children.
Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
If you suffer from thyroid dysfunction, seek medical advice before using this product.
Do not use during pregnancy.
