Biosnacky Germinator jar

A Vogel BioSnacky Germinator Jar by A. Vogel is a premium glass sprouting vessel designed for simplicity, hygiene, and optimal growth. Sprouting transforms dormant seeds into “living” foods, multiplying their vitamin content and making their minerals more bioavailable.

1. Design & Technical Features

  • Eco-Friendly Glass: Unlike plastic sprouters, the glass jar is non-porous, BPA-free, and does not retain odors or bacteria.
  • Ventilation Cap: The lid features a fine mesh screen that allows for perfect air circulation while keeping dust and pests out.
  • Drainage Support: The jar is designed to be tilted at an angle (using the lid as a stand), ensuring excess water drains away to prevent mold and rot.
  • Dishwasher Safe: The glass component is easy to sterilize between crops, ensuring a clean growing environment.

2. The Nutritional Power of Sprouting

Sprouting is like “pre-digesting” your food. During the 3–7 days of growth:

  • Enzyme Activation: Dormant enzymes are “woken up,” aiding your own digestive processes.
  • Vitamin Explosion: Levels of Vitamin C, B-vitamins, and Vitamin A increase significantly as the seed prepares to become a plant.
  • Mineral Bioavailability: Phytic acid (which binds to minerals) is neutralized, making the iron, zinc, and calcium in the seeds easier to absorb.
  • Antioxidant Boost: Sprouts like Broccoli or Radish contain up to 50 times the antioxidant concentration of the mature vegetable.

3. How to Use: The 4-Step Process

  1. Soak: Place 1–2 tablespoons of seeds (like Alfalfa, Mung Bean, or Radish) in the jar. Fill with water and soak for the time required (usually 6–12 hours).
  2. Rinse: Drain the soaking water through the mesh lid. Refill with fresh water, swirl, and drain again.
  3. Germinate: Place the jar in a spot with indirect light (not direct sun). Tilt the jar at an angle so any remaining water can drip out.
  4. Repeat: Rinse and drain 2 times daily (morning and evening). Your sprouts will be ready in 3 to 7 days depending on the seed variety.
